Can you help me choose a good portable DVD player?

Question by sloppyjo: Can you help me choose a good portable DVD player?
I am looking to buy a portable DVD player for a long car ride. I am looking at the portable players that have two screens. I saw one at Sam’s Club. You can use it so two people can watch the same movie on two screens, or each TV can be used separately.
I might just end up getting two separate units, one for each child. I have owned an Audiovox portable DVD player in the past, and it broke a few months later. Are there any other good brands out there? Do anyone of you have experience with the two screen type? Thank you!

Why does my Coby DVD portable player use up the battery so fast? What can be done about it?

Question by royalty_fan66: Why does my Coby DVD portable player use up the battery so fast? What can be done about it?
It is the Coby TF-DVD7050, 7″ portable tablet style dvd player. If I put it on pause or prestop for more than a minute, then I won’t have enough battery life to watch a whole movie.

This is not a very good player, the battery will last only around 2hrs per charge. You may need to buy an extra rechargeable battery for your player.

Dvd player?

Question by Pat: Dvd player?
I am visiting my parents in Arizona, and a few days ago, I noticed that their DVD player and VCR weren’t working. When I asked them about it, they told me that they didn’t know how to hook them up to their TV.

It took some effort, but I managed to get their VCR working, but I couldn’t get the DVD player working.

My father said something about hooking it up to the stereo/sound system to get the sound, but it didn’t make any sense to me.
*TV- Old RCA (not sure of the year)

*DVD player- Symphonic (fairly new)

*VCR- Emerson (couple of years old)

*Cable Box-DirecTv (maybe a year old)

*Stereo- SHARP Energy Star (also fairly new not sure of year)

Any suggestions on how to get the DVD player working?
There are only three little holes on the back of the TV and they are used by the cable box and two other things-there aren’t any color-coded connectors.

You should have put pictures on that showed the connections on the back. Usually you would connect the sound through red and white RCA cables from DVD to Stereo. The video would be yellow RCA or a round connector thst kind of looks like an old mouse connector and that would go from DVD to TV. There should be a way to select the input on the TV. THE dvd and TV might have component jacks that would be Red, Green and Blue. Those are best where the round mouse like one is better and the yellow rca is good.
